What Do My Sonography Reports Indicate?
Question: My wife is 37 weeks 5 days pregnant. She is 34 years old. She has PIH (pregnancy induced hypertension) since 8th month. Doctor has given Labebet 100 mg twice a day and with that her BP plays between 140/80, 130/70, 120/70. These days it is more of 130 or 120 and lower is 70 or 80. She has swelling on legs, face and hands. They subside and get back on and off. Her WBC count remains high once it was 21500 and after Doctor giving Clingen V3 for 3 days and after that the WBC count reduced to 12500. No protein is seen in the urine test. Child weight is 3050 gms. There is loose cord/coil around baby’s neck. Amniotic fluid is adequate. Sonography reports are all normal. Based on the above, to avoid complications, Doctor has suggested cesarean at the completion of 38 weeks. Baby has not yet dropped into cervix too. Baby is normal and fine. Is it advisable to do cesarean on completion of 38 weeks? Is it okay if we wait for a few more days after completion of 38 weeks? What is the ideal date for delivery? Can we wait and go for normal delivery? Any other concern?
Brief Answer:
Delivery should be by 38 weeks
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
PIH controlled on drugs should have delivery by 38 weeks.
Mode of delivery depends upon various factors like baby weight, condition of cervix and dimensions of the birth passage.
If your doctor has examined her internally and assessed all the things , then caesaean section might be advisable.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
