Brief Answer:
4th generation test is conclusive by 28 days for HIV 1
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
4th generation Combo test has two parts. One will detect the presence of antigen as early as 1 week and conclusive by 4 weeks whereas the other part of the test detects the presence of HIV antibodies. This part will detect the antibodies only after the window period and not early. The first part is conclusive as far as HIV 1 is concerned. The second part is conclusive for both HIV 1 and 2. But HIV 1 infection is 99% common every part of the world other than certain parts of XXXXXXX

Hi,
Welcome back.
If your HIV test done after 3 months came as negative, it is conclusive that you are free from HIV 1 and 2.
It is quiet unlikely to get HIV through dribbling of vaginal secretions over the pubic area. Not to worry.

Noted! Doctor, can you tell me more about what is a mucous membrane and how can hiv be transmitted to there? Thanks
Brief Answer:
When there is a possibility of mixing of body fluids HIV can be transmitted
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Mucus membrane is another covering layer like our skin to the inner parts of our body holes and tubes. It also offers a high degree of protection from infection through various mechanisms like stratification and by the action of cilia etc. When there is a breach in this lining epithelium, there is likelihood chance for the blood of that individual would like to get contact with the body fluid of the infected person, HIV can be transmitted.
