Brief Answer:
unlikely to have STD/HIV

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.

As you had protected sex, the risk of HIV/STD is remote.
Testing for STD s can be done after 4 weeks, whereas for HIV is recommended after 12 weeks.
You will get non reactive results.

Antibody test becomes conclusive after 12 weeks for both HIV 1 and 2.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.

HIV test (4th generation Combo test) done 2 months after the high risk contact will rule out the possibility of
HIV 1 infection conclusively which is the most common (more than 99%) possible HIV infection throughout the world except in few parts of XXXXXXX
ELISA or Rapid Test done after 12 weeks, conclusive both for HIV 1 and 2 Infection.

Hi doctor, my local clinic offers a rapid fingerprick blood HIV 1/2 P24 Antigen/Antibody Combo (HIV DUO TEST) (4th generation). Duration 20mins. They stated that it is conclusive at 28 post exposure. It is really conclusive that way? Thanks
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sankaranantham Murugan (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
4th generation test is conclusive by 28 days for HIV 1

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.

4th generation Combo test has two parts. One will detect the presence of antigen as early as 1 week and conclusive by 4 weeks whereas the other part of the test detects the presence of HIV antibodies. This part will detect the antibodies only after the window period and not early. The first part is conclusive as far as HIV 1 is concerned. The second part is conclusive for both HIV 1 and 2. But HIV 1 infection is 99% common every part of the world other than certain parts of XXXXXXX

Noted with thanks. One last question Doctor, if my 3 month hiv rapid test came back negative. Am i free the viral infections? And can hiv be pass through pubic area if a huge amount of vagina secretions is drip onto my pubic area?
doctor
Answered by Dr. Sankaranantham Murugan (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
HIV negative test after 3 months conclusively ruled out HIV 1 and 2

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.

If your HIV test done after 3 months came as negative, it is conclusive that you are free from HIV 1 and 2.
It is quiet unlikely to get HIV through dribbling of vaginal secretions over the pubic area. Not to worry.

Brief Answer:
These tests have no evidence for HIV, HSV 1 and 2

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.

Your result reveals that there is no evidence for HIV, HSV 1 and 2 with you. Anyhow 45 days after the encounter is well within window period. HIV antibody test has to be repeated. As you had protected sex that also would come negative,
