What Do Painful Lumps In The Groin Area Indicate?

She now has three. She is getting another appointment to see her DR. She is under a lot of stress and does have bad headaches at time. I have read where sometimes that can be the cause of bump issues.
There is no reason to believe we have previous contact with someone else infected as she was a virgin and I had only sex with my previous wife who died back in 2000. She had no issues and I have had no issues.
So my question is can something like v warts come from sex that simply was not clean? I really don't know what STD really means in that it keeps being defined as something contracted..
Warts are viral infections
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for using HCM to post your health query.
I read carefully your question and I understand your concern.
Warts are viral infection so they appear only in case of a contact with someone who has the warts, so that's why they are classified as sexually transmitted infections. So no, they cannot appear from sex that is not clean but only from sex with someone who has this viral infection and that person has taken it from someone else.
The bumps that your wife has, seem to be painful, so I don't think they are warts. They can surely be hormonal related as her doctor said. The mucosa of vagina and vulvae has glands that under hormonal effect can be hypertrophied (bigger) so they can produce more secretions.
I don't know for sure where they are localized, but if they are in an area where there is hair, they can be also a bacterial infection due to staphylococcus like folicullitis.
Also, if she has itchiness and white plaques, she can have a fungal infection which sometimes gives bumps but they should have some white component.
Bacterial vaginosis can be non sexually transmitted (its the dis balance of the bacterias that are normal in the vulvae), and it may give painful bumps, but the main characteristic its the fishy odor that comes from those tissues.
These are my guesses and thoughts of what it may be, without the help of a physical exam. Hope this is helpful.
