What Do Palpitations And Ectopic Heartbeats With Normal Stress Test Results Suggest?
Question: Hi doctor I have had several tests done by cardiologists regarding my heart. Everything comes back structurally normal. No arythmia detected and I passed all my stress tests. I do suffer from anxiety and I get palpitations and etopic beats (pacs) very few pvcs. My cardiologists insist this is due to anxiety and my heart is very healthy.
I am very confused because I feel like I have a hormonal problem that is affecting my heart or causing symptoms. Could it be my adrenal glands? I am so confused because they tell me I'm fine but I don't feel fine. My heart races with small exertion and I also get moments of slight bradycardia. Please help

Brief Answer:
Need endocrine testinh
Detailed Answer:
Good day,
Noted your concern. Adrenal gland can occasionaly produce excess hormones like adrenaline and nor adrenaline which can cause palpitatios ad anxiety like symptoms. Hoever, these symptoms are episodic. Not continuous.
To know if your adrenal glands are secreting excessive hormones, we may need cartain tests like plasma catecholamines. You also may need an endocrine evaluation to see if your adrenal glands are working in excess.

Hi doctor thank you for your reply. That is what I am experiencing now is episodic symptoms. Sometimes at night before bed and in the morning when I wake up. I am going to ask my doctor for these tests you have recommended. Is this issue dangerous and what would help with these symptoms if it is due to adrenal fatigue or other problem
Brief Answer:
Endocrine testing
Detailed Answer:
Good morning, ( its morning here).
If you are experiencing episodic palpitations, then these tests may be warranted.
However, i must say that most common cause of such symptom is due to anxiety.
Pheochromocytoma ( a condition with excess adrenal catechomaine production) surely need to be ruled out. Meet an endocrinologist who will be able to do tests to exclue
