Brief Answer:
Advil should be discontinued

Detailed Answer:
Greetings and welcome to HCM. Thank you for your question. I understand your concern.

Diastolic blood pressure is normal up to 90 mmHg. Many factors increase it. Among the usual suspects are psychological stress, caffeine-containing beverages, alcohol, tobacco etc. In your case, a 47-year woman, the hormonal "game" may increase it. However, with the physiological and enviromental factors that have been said, ibuprofen (Advil) and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) are a well-known cause of raised blood pressure, especially the diastolic compartment. At this point, I would recommend you to discontinue ibuprofen and use a drug from another class as an agent to "fight" the headache, such as codein. The recommendation is to use it in small dosages, for an up to 14 days trial.

I hope I was helpful. I am happy to help, if you have follow-up questions.

Kind regards,
Dr. Meriton
