Question: On my home tonight while driving my car, I pulled over and read a message in my car. I ended up sitting in my car for another 45 minutes or so, reading articles. However, the entire time, I had my right foot (mostly the ball of my foot) on the brake, and did not realize i was pushing fairly hard on the brake pedal. I simply was not paying attention. I was wearing leather shoes with leather sole.
Now my foot, especially the front of foot has quite the pins and needles for the last 30 minutes or so. Could I have done long term damage to my foot.

Detailed Answer:
I read your question carefully and I understand your concern.

However fortunately judging from that description I do not think that you have much to fear, at least not regarding that pedal pushing doing any damage. It is not a trauma of such entity to cause any serious damage, even considering the length of time it does not cause such long lasting damage. Our body has its warning mechanisms, by sending pain signals long before a permanent damage has been caused.
So even if that compression was to have affected the small nerves of the foot its effect will wane gradually.

I hope to have been of help.
