What Do Raised GM Antibody Titer Levels Indicate?
Is there a neurologist who is able to interpret my test results I just uploaded?
Results interpretation
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Your antibody test results are showing two positive results
- GM 1 antibody (IgM) titer raised
- Ganglioside Asialo GM1 antibody titer raised
These two antibodies are found positive in case of autoimmune inflammatory demyelinating neuropathy. One of the common disorder is "Gullain Barre syndrome".
Compared with the controls, the median titre of GM1 was significantly higher in patients with multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, primary Sjögren's syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosus.
In your case, the idiopathic neuropathy is most probably due to any of above-mentioned syndrome. Your rest antibodies were negative and not suggesting any particular syndrome.
Your history report is suggesting
- operated breast with benign calcification,
- benign thyroid nodule,
- normal carotid doppler,
- normal blood tests,
- normal urine tests,
- raised cholesterol,
- the normal level of CA 125 and no diabetes mellitus.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
