What Do Rashes On Elbow, leg, foot And Nose Of A Toddler Indicate?

Question: My son 2.6 yrs old has rashes on his elbow, leg, foot and little bit under mouth & nose. The rashes are sever in elbow. I found it getting more severe on last Saturday. Hence immediately I rushed to my doctor's clinic and he is out of station for next 1 week. Hence alternatively I went to nearby clinic where i visited a pedeatrician who suspected it to be either due to insect bite or scabies. Hence given medicine for few days to control the rashes - Permite 5 cream, Calosoft lotion, Syr. Atarex. Saturday nigh he was feeling very itchy in the legs. But sunday night it is improved and itching has come down. His weight is average 12.5. Last 2 days he is not eating properly and I feel he might have lost some weight also. Though itching has come down, his elbow is having quite a lot blisters. How long will it take to completely cure. Any precautions we need to follow.
Please advice whether the current medication is good or need to visit the doctor again for further treatment.

Brief Answer:
Continue same treatment , good
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for writing to us.
The description given by you looks like insect bite allergy or viral illness.
Scabies is also likely, as suspected by your doctor.
Permethrin is the treatment of choice and you are already using it.
I would suggest you to continue same.
Repeat permite cream this saturday also.
Calosoft and atarax are good to control itching.
Since he is responding , there is no need to worry.
It may take even a week more for rash to settle.
Precautions :
1. Trim nails
2. Bath daily
3. Wash his clothes in hot water.
