What Do Rashes On The Hands, Elbows, Face And Neck Indicate?
Question: I have been receiving these rashes on my hands, inside my elbows. On my face, neck and parts of arms for the past few months.
When I was younger I would only experience the symptoms and rashes on my inner elbow and behind my knees. I didn't experience it anywhere else very often.
Is there something I can take, or something I can do?
I have recently moved to Dubai where it is humid and hot. I lived in Canada where the air is cooler and less humid. Could this have had an effect on my symptoms?

Hello. Thank you for writing to us.
I am Dr. Kakkar (Dermatologist). I have read your question and I have viewed the images.
I can make out that there are small closely set bumps arranged as round or oval, ring shaped patches - on adjacent fingers, back of hand and wrist. The patches seem like that they could either be of tinea i.e fungal infection Or they could be granuloma annulare.
Yes change of weather can have an affect.
I would like to know is there any associated Itching?
Regards

Yes there is itchiness
Brief Answer:
Oral and topical antifungals
Detailed Answer:
Thank you.
Most likely it is a fungal infection I.e tinea corporis. I suggest an oral antifungal e.g either Fluconazole or Itraconazole or Terbinafine for 4 weeks. In addition to that I suggest a topical antifungal e g clotrimazole 1% cream or miconazole nitrate 2% cream, twice a day. These are prescription medications and I suggest follow up with your local dermatologist.
You may also take a tab. cetrizine once a day for symptomatic relief from itching.
