Hello and thanks for the query.

It is possible that the red patch you see may be a fungal infection. If you could upload a photo this would be quite helpful for me to assess.

Otherwise In this case, clotrimazole would be reasonable to use. I would recommend using it 3 times per day for 5 days. A 1 percent formulation of the clotrimazole cream would be best.

If the red patch does not improve or if it gets worse in the next 5 days then please see your primary doctor for an exam.
