Question: hi dr. my 4.5 mnths old baby has suddenly got alot of small small daane aroind his eyes and on fore
head. I dont think these are mosquito bites as there r no mosquitoes here. Please advise.

Hi...thank you for the image. This looks like Papular urticaria or eczema.
Regarding eczema - This is a sort of skin allergy. The trick of the management is keeping the skin moist and never allowing it to be dry. For this oil massage and lotions like Oilatum will help. Regarding cure options - eczema is a sort of allergy...allergies can only be controlled and can never be cured. But usually kids grow out of it...that is as the age progresses, they become better starting from 6 months.
Regarding urticaria - unlikely and can be put only as a second option - . You can use the same oilatum lotion at this age for 7-10 days. If it was an older kid, we could have used some anti allergic medications. Most important thing to be remembered is that it has a propensity to recur (called as second crop) within 10-14 days. If this happens, you can start using the same medicine but I suggest you get the kid evaluated with your pediatrician.
