First of all, it is sad to know what you had been experiencing lately. Based on the history you have shared, it can be acute respiratory infection due to viral causes or even some bacteria like staph or mycoplasma may present with rash and respiratory symptoms. It's better to get yourself examined by your primary physician and get a detailed throat and chest examination. Send throat cultures as well as blood screens for complete blood count and CRP. Some viruses may cause low platelets count which can also lead to such petechial rash as is shown in the picture.
Don't get worried as most of these community acquired viral infection are self limiting. You just need to keep a check on few lab and clinical parameters and treat symptomatically. Using OTC analgesics like acetaminophen and anti histamines like cetrizine or loratidine can help with symptoms. If throat swab or any other signs of bacterial infection on blood screens is proven, an antibiotics course may be needed.
