What Do The Following Chest And X Ray Reports Indicate?
I was referred to neurosurgeon, and they called and want me to get an MRI for a "fixed and lytic lesion".
I'm a bit scared there is something wrong.
What does this all mean?
I'm a 43 year old woman with no medical conditions other than mild high blood pressure.
Can be due to infection or a tumor.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
A compression fracture of the vertebra causes pain and sometimes a nerve root compression causing pain in the area supplied by the nerve.
A hemangioma is a blood vessel malformation that is benign in nature. It usually does not need any treatment if it is small.
A lytic lesion in the vertebra can be due to an infection or a tumor. An MRI scan will help in detecting the type of lesion and its extent. It can be a benign lesion also. No need to worry. Go for further investigations.
I hope this answers your query.
