Question: I had my full body check up on 03 May 2016.
Find the attached report (Report_03May2016).
Based on the report, I visited to a physician and dietician.
Doctor comes to conclusion of hypothyroidism and dyslipidemia. Along with the dieting and exercise, he recommended to start medication and advised below medicine for 30 days.
1) Thyronorm 100 MCG TAB (In morning, empty stomach).
2) Fibator TAB (In night, before sleeping)
3) Udiliv 300 MG TAB (Once in day)
4) Evion 400 MG TAB (Once in day)
5) Corus TAB (Once in day)

I followed, above medication for 30 days and then stopped it except Thyronorm that is still I am taking.. Along with medication, I changed my life style to loose the weight. As of 04 May 2016 my weight was 92 KG, now today it is 83 KG.

Yesterday, I had another check up to see the thyroid and cholesterol level. Find the attached report. (SP0000_Report_18June2016). There are lots indictors. TSH level is too high though T3 and T4 is normal.

Please advise.

Brief Answer:
Too high TSH needs further tests

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

The markedly increased TSH levels despite normal T3, T4 need more testing. TSH may be being produced by pituitary. It may be due to a pituitary conditions like pituitary adenoma etc.

See a surgeon or a neurologist for further testing.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thanks for the advise. I will follow up on this.
In latest report i.e. "SP0000_Report_18June2016.pdf", apart from TSH there are some other numbers are not in range. Can you please advise on that too ?

Thanks,

Brief Answer:
Not big issues

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Uric acid is a bit out of range. Unless it is accompanied by joint pain, there is no need of medicines to reduce it.

Lipids are in range in this report.

There is mild elevation of SGPT in both reports. It may be for any cause like alcohol, medicines (like paracetamol), viral hepatitis etc. My advice would be to take hygienic food, clean drinking water, avoid medicines, avoid alcohol.
Can try syr Liv52 1 tsp twice a day for 1 month.

Platelet count is a little low but should not create problems.

Hemoglobin is also on lower side. RBC are bigger in size. This suggests Vitamin B12 or folic acid deficiency. You can get these levels checked by a simple blood test and take its supplement accordingly. This may normalize platelet count as well.

Hope it helps.

In given context of TSH, T3 and T4, do you think I should discontinue current medication i.e. Thyronorm 100 MCG TAB (In morning, empty stomach) ?

Brief Answer:
Need to know your symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Yes I think it will not be appropriate to continue with thyronorm. But before you discontinue it, please tell me the symptoms that you may be experiencing with it. If you are not hypothyroid and you are taking thyronorm unnecessarily, then you would be experiencing effects of thyroid excess.

To be specific, I am feeling all of them since last 10-15 days.

1) I am feeling muscle pain at many places in body.
2) Bit tired.
3) I feel pain/stretch at leg joints when I walk after sitting from my desk after 1-2 hour.
4) Hair loss.
5) Mild chest pain.

I am doing dieting and also started playing badminton since last couple of months. I was seeing all these impact to changed schedule, but not sure if it due to side effect of thyronorm.

Brief Answer:
Maybe due to thyronorm

Detailed Answer:
Hi

From what I gather from your queries, You probably discontinued all medicines by 3rd XXXXXXX while continuing thyronorm. Since last 10 -15 days you developed above stated symptoms.

Except the tiredness, all other symptoms might be due to thyroid excess...especially chest pain. Get an ECG done for chest pain. Check with endocrinologist/neurologist/surgeon for further tests on TSH excess. In presence of chest pain, increased heart rate, withdrawal of thyronorm is warranted.
