Testing complications of diabetes.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing to Health Care Magic, I am Dr Muhammd Ahmad, I have closely read your question and I understand your concerns, I will hereby guide you regarding your health related problem.
Diabetes if uncontrolled can cause many kinds of problems in which peripheral angiopathy and kidney issues are commonly there. Peripheral angiopathy causes blockage in the blood vessels that take blood to feet so when they get blocked feet get no blood so feet start to die this is called gangrene.
Now Diabetes with peripheral angiopathy without gangrene means due to diabetes , your blood vessels have got narrowed in feet but they are not narrow enough to cause gangrene yet.
When we find this complication in a diabetic patient then we look out for other complications for diabetes as well specially we check the heart , do ECG to see if diebetes has affected heaet, we check eyes to see if diabetes has affected the retina and same way we check the kidneys as diebetes can damage kidneys.
So after finding one complication of diabetes(in your case angiopathy) we always look out for other complications of diabetes to protect the patient from any major consequences, so that is why your doctor has been doing tests on your kidney to check if there is any damage, and if there is damage then something can be done to stop it.
I hope this answered your question, if you have more feel free to ask, otherwise close the discussion and rate it.
Regards.
Dr.Muhammad Ahmad.
