What Do These X-ray Findings Indicate?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Daughter fell on arm 4 days ago. Was told follow up with orthopedic within a week to cast the elbow She has half cast on now. Cant see one till Monday. I saw xrays it dont look broken... does it. Here are pics. Can you circle it....
Brief Answer:
Positive fat pad sign indicating fracture
Detailed Answer:
Hi there.
In this Xray the fracture cannot be seen because it is an incomplete fracture but there is a positive fat pad sign or dark shadow behind the end of the arm bone, which indicates that there is a fracture of the supracondylar region of the humerus bone.
This needs 4 to 6 weeks of immobilisation with cast, after which physiotherapy and range of movement exercises can be started.
I hope I have answered your query.
