What Do These Below Lab Reports Indicate?
Question: Hello,
My baby "Manik XXXXXXX of 4 yrs had gone with Open Exploratory Laparotomy was done on 23rd Jul’14
(Intussceptions was non reducible, so resection anastomosis was done of the mass)
Histopathology Revealed – Low Grade gastrointestinal stromal tumor, Inflammatory fibroid polyp/GIST
Also has constipation problem.
I was consulting with peadiatric gastro doctor , he has suggested Laxopeg XXXXXXX of 1.5 daily & cremaffin 15ml daily.
Recently i have changed the doctor he has suggested Lactulose Syrup.
Now i am confused is there any difference between these medicines
Secondly he has recommended some test Thyroid profile test & Vitamin D
Result T3 - 1.41 (1.05-2.69), T4 - 6.00 (7.30- 15.00), TSH - 2.07 (0.70 - 6.40)
Vitamin D25 hydroxy - 45,32
Pls suggest

Lactulose is safe and can be given no problem.
Laxopeg and cremaffin are more powerful and should be used only for a short period.

Continue lactulose as advised. Follow up regularly with Your pediatrician.
