What Do These Below Reports Indicate?

Question: I just had biopsy done and pathology report says cystically dilated duct with focal sclerosing adenosis and dense, stromal fibrosis in the left 1 o'clock axis, 4.0 centimeters from areolar margin. Now I am reading all of these internet site stories about how stromal fibrosis often turns to cancer. My breast surgeon only recommends monitoring it by returning in 6 months for another sonogram. But I am now thinking perhaps I should have the lump removed before I give it a 6 month chance to turn to cancer. What would you advise?

Brief Answer:
I would suggest you to follow the advice of doctor.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your query.

I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions.
It’s more common as the breast ages. Most women will not notice any symptoms and it’s often only diagnosed during a routine mammogram.
The development of sclerosing adenosis has no direct link to breast carcinoma. It is not pre-cancerous.

I would have suggested you follow up of 3 to 4 month without any additional surgery.

I do understand that you are anxious, so you can consider early follow up with sonogram, for your own satisfaction.

Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.

Sincerely,
