Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXXXXX
I was wondering how she had responded to Amlodipine, thanks for updating me.
I have seen her ECG and ECHO reports and both are remarkable as per her age which is a good thing.
Yes her BP readings are fluctuating a bit but as of now i would like to stick with the same medicine and dose for another week or 15 days as frequent change of Medicine is not a recommended treatment guideline.
If even after 15 days this fluctuation continues then i would like to think upon changing her BP medicine to some other group of Antihypertensives.
Along with that in the mean time one thing i would like to suggest is that get your BP apparatus checked/calibrated (most likely you must be using the automated one) to avoid technical error and unnecessary treatment plan shifts.
Kind Regards

My Age is 54. I am also having high blood pressure issue. I take Telma 40 once in the morning and with that my Blood Pressure remains perfect without fluctuation. Please advise is Telma 40 can be given to my elder sister instead of Amlodipine 5 mg. Shall proceed further as per your advise.
Hello Again
Detailed Answer:
Actually the thing is that Amlodipine belongs to calcium channel blockers group of drugs and this group is very good for controlling BP especially in patients approaching their 60s and also its usually sufficient alone for controlling blood pressure Thats why i started her on amlodipine.
But if doesn't help then we have to switch to ARB's like TELMISARTAN which you are taking.
I started her on AMLODIPINE on 2 may and its not even 1 month so rather to just keep changing from one drug to another i would like to wait and see for atleast 1 full month.
Kind Regards
