Brief Answer:
Yes tests recommended.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query at HCM.
I understand your concern and situation.
Firstly I would like to tell you that rapid tests are not recommended before 3 months because of unreliability of results. You must take 4 th generation Antigen and antibodies ELISA test after 12 weeks for conclusive evidence. Before 12 weeks only HIV PCR test is reliable. After these tests you must repeat the test antibodies based ELISA test at 6 months. After that no further tests needed.
Take care
Hope I answered your query

Thanks Doctor,
Now if i re-test p24 combo test, would this be conclusive now.or there is any other test for conclusive result with in 12 wk
I have read that 95% persons develop antibody in6to8 weeks time. Seeing my reports of appx 9wk.what are my chances of being negative.

Brief Answer:
97-98% chances of being HIV negative.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
Yes I would suggest you to take tests after 12 weeks. The chances of getting positive result is extremely rare. 97-98% possibility of the retest to be negative in your case. So do not worry I believe that you will be negative on further tests. These are according to international norms. Yes in majority of patients tests at 12 weeks are conclusive.

Thanks Doctor for the early response,
There is only one querry more.
I have gone for 4th generation test in appx 8 week.
the time when antigen and antibody would be in detactable limits.(as i have read the antigen are at peak in 4 to10 week) if infected.
being my negative at 8th week & i am a healthy man not taking any immunosuppresive medicine, can be taken as being hiv free if We talks practical situation not the international norms or still there be the chance.
Sorry for asking this silly question because of high anxity.
