Question: I have the pain a month ago, started diarrhea, a little vomiting a week ago. Feel something in the throat (a month ago), cough, sometimes feel like can't breath (become worse this week) fever (99.5 - 100.5), hard to go to sleep, easy to weak up during the night (2 weeks) I had hp 2 years ago. I also took Albendazole 2 years ago, kind of see worms in the stool but not really checked. The stool was checked yesterday but no bacteria found, but they didn't check the worms. The symptoms feel a lot like Ascaris lumbricoides.

Here is the blood test result yesterday. But I took the test after I took Albendazole and Metronidazol. Here is the stool test result: NEGATIVE for DIARRHEAL PATHOGENS BY PCR ------------------------------------------------------------ This assay detects Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Campylobacter spp., E. coli 0157, Shiga-like toxins 1 and 2, E. coli LT/ST toxins, Vibrio spp., Clostridium difficile toxins, Norovirus, Rotavirus, Adenovirus, Giardia, Cryptosporidium, and Entamoeba histolytica. I asked if they also checked for worms, they said they didn't. Any advise?

Brief Answer:
Posible worm infestation.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Mam,

I understand your query and concern.

Your symptoms are suggestive of parasitic infection leading to malabsorption.

So I advise you to get Stool Antigen test and Ultrasound abdomen to confirm the diagnosis.

Wait for the test results before starting any medication.

Post your further queries if any,

Thank you.
