What Do These Following Lab Reports Indicate?

Question: Hello Dr XXXXXXX How are you?

I am back from Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. I went to see my urologist there, and i did HIV & VDRL Tests. Both Results came out non-reactive for HIV and non-reactive for VDRL. URINE CHEMISTRY: PH: 6.0, SpecificGravity: 1.025 (1.005-1.030) Protein:Negative UrineGlucose:Negative, Ketone:Negative, bilirubin:Negative MICROSCOPY RESULTS: RedBloodcell: Negative Whitebloodcell:1 / uL Epithelialcell:Negative Crystals: Negative Casts: Negative.

The doctor gave me Zithromax 250mg for 5 days 2tabs for first day and 4tabs for four days , terazosin 1 tab for 30 days (still taking), metronidazole for five days 2tabs two times a day 20tab.

I am left with terazosin which i am still taking now. my current condition is, i am still feeling a little bit of itchiness at my penis, and a slight burning when i pee in the morning at the tip and also felt abit of hot at the tip when i ejaculate.... what should i do now?? should i continue taking metronidazole again as i was explained by the doctor that it is meant for bacteria,,,

Thanks for writing again .

This is in continuation of of our previous thread of discussion over your problem of burning at the tip of the penis .

It is good that all the basic screening tests for STD and HIV have been reported to be negative .

The burning sensation at the tip of the penis is due to inflammation (Not infection) of the external urinary meatus and will take long time to get cured .

Continue taking Diclofenac and urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily for 4 weeks .along with urinary alkalizer Citralka thrice daily .

Repeat your blood test for HIV after 3 months .

Thanks for your reply...yes i am very happy with the results that i got from the tests.yes it is about the burning pain at the tip of the penis. thanks for the information.
by the way,,,
what do you mean, how long does it take for it to be cured? will it leave scars? & will the scars be gone as time pass by... as for the itchiness, how can i eliminate this,,, should i take metronidazole again for 5 days as it is for the anti-bacteria? does it mean that the bacteria will be gone out of my body? (i still felt abit of itchy here and there esp at the penis)

The itching and pain will go away gradually .

Do not take Metronidazole or Terazosin .Take only Diclofenac and Nitrofurantoin twice daily .
