Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for choosing HealthcareMagic for your query.
I am a Gastroenterologist and would be addressing your query.
Liver hemangiomas are the most common benign liver tumors. Most of the patient with hemangioma are usually asymptomatic and usually this lesion is found incidently during abdominal studies done for some other problem.
Treatment of Hemangioma is a matter of controversy for decades.
However as per the guidelines of NCBI(American govt. aided research facility)
"Only indication of surgical resection of this tumour is when it follows both the below mentioned criteria-
progressive abdominal pain in combination with size >5 cm."
USG also show no significant increase in size.
If one of the above mentioned criteria is not met surgeon would not resect it.
So as per your query yes doctors in USA are following the protocol as you have no abdominal pain a resection is not at all needed.
Consevatively they can be treated by lasers also but risk of scar formation in liver is associated. So unnecessarily don't disturb it.Scar formation can cause a number of problems far worse then Hemangioma.
Don't worry its just a benign lesion all you need to do is to repeat an ultrasound every 6 months.
You will come across various suggestions on google but NCBI is one of the most authentic research and trial facility.
Hope you got you answer,
In case you need more explaination feel free to follow up.

Detailed Answer:
Hi again.
Only if it grows more then 10 cm in size a qualified surgeon would use laser or resection surgery otherwise no one will touch your liver.Just keep monitoring every 6 months.
As told earlier its a benign lesion it won't harm you.Disturbing liver unnecessarily will harm you more.
Regards.
