That is unfortunate , i think i had a minor outbreak once a long time ago but not anymore , i know there is no cure for herpes , but is there a way to maintain it ? And i am about to get married , will it affect my sex life i mean will it be transmitted to my spouse ? Or only when i have an outbreak?
Brief Answer:
No need of regular antivirals, chances of transmitting to sexual partner
Detailed Answer:
If the recurrences are very uncommon then there is no need to take regular medicines.
Antivirals need to be taken only during an active episode of herpes infection.
There are always a chance of transmitting hepes virus without even an outbreak as subclinical shedding of herpesvirus occurs.
To avoid it from transmitting to your partner you need to go for protected sex.
