What Do These Ultrasound Findings Indicate?
This is not normal but looks benign.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
I can understand the stress one can have after reading such reports.
You have mentioned the report as:
Abnormal solid or cystic mass is detected at the 9 o'clock position of the right breast approximately 4 cm from the nipple as indicated to represent the region of interest at the 11 o'clock position approximately 1 and 2 cm from the nipple there are a few small cysts measuring up to 2 mm in size no solid right breast mass is detected ÃÂ few tiny right breast cysts are noted elsewhere.
From this report, the condition looks to be a benign (means not cancer) called fibrocystic disease of the breast. Of course this is not normal but looks benign.
Your providing a detailed history and posting a scanned copy of the actual complete report would helps me further to assist you better.
Please answer the following questions:
- Since when have you noticed the lump/lumps?
- What is the complaint? Pain/lump?
- Any relationship with menstrual periods? Like the swelling and/or pain increases just before the periods or so on?
- Any history of breast cancer in the family members (blood relatives)?
- Any other information you would like to share.
Awaiting for your answers for more clarifications and further discussion.
This may not be cancer, need further tests and opinion of a Surgeon.
Detailed Answer:
Pain in the breast, Two kids and no family history of breast cancer is a good thing.
The pain indicates that these are NOT cancer.
Please post the report of ultrasonography.
I would Advise you further confirmatory things to do:
Clinical examination by a General Surgeon or Onco-Surgeon. Further tests as suggested by Him/Her on examination and counselling.
Do not worry, this looks to be benign changes.
