What Do Ulcers All Over The Tongue Indicate?

Question: My wife and I have ulcers all over our tongues. I'm familiar with these in the past, and they may last a bay or so, but in this case her's are going on 3 weeks, and I am into this a week. They are sore at times from the molers rubbing on the side of tongue, and taste buds are gone! Is there anything OTC that can help the healing process?
