What Do Welts With Purple Rings Indicate?

Question: I have three welts on my upper inner thigh that had red circles around then but the circles are now purple have had for about for days the welts are smaller

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. What is not apparent from your query is whether you could have got some sort of insect bite or trauma which could have caused the welts. Anyway, from the description it is evident that they are presently in a healing stage as indicated by the redness converting to purple and the welts becoming smaller.

As of now, I would suggest you to apply some emollients like aloe vera lotion or calamine lotion topically. If there is associated itchiness, you can take cetirizine tablet once a day for a few days. Unless the welts worsen, you need not worry. Be patient and they should be completely gone in 5-7 days.
