What Do You Suggest For Frequent Urination And Discomfort In The Abdomen?
Question: Hello Dr. Rynne. I have been urinating a lot last few days. Minutes after I urinate, I feel as though I need to go again including right after shower. I am not taking any medicine. No pain. Just slight discomfort in abdomen. Some parts of day, the urge goes away for as much as couple of hours though. What do you suggest?

Get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.
Take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin and urine alkalizer. Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Thank you for your advice. I saw a local physician today. He prescribed Ciproflxacin 500mg, 1 tablet twice daily. Pharmacy's label has all sorts of warnings and cautions. I am totally confused now. Am I going to end up with more severe health proglems that UTI if I take this antibiotic? Should I even take it? Please advise.
