What Do You Think Finger Feels Like A Tingling Or Numbness Sensation?

default
Posted on Fri, 27 Dec 2024
Question: Hi I just noticed a weird sensation in my middle finger of my right hand after I got out of the shower. It feels like a tingling or numbness sensation just in my middle finger of my right hand. I only feel it when I bend my wrist up or down and also when trying to pick something up. It feels like when you hit your funny bone but instead it starts in my middle finger and radiates up my right arm like a nerve has been pinched or something. There is no plain but it is extremely uncomfortable. What do you think it is?

Brief Answer:
Can be due to carpal tunnel syndrome.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The symptoms that you have described are likely to be due to carpal tunnel syndrome. This can cause mild nerve irritation also at the level of wrist. To relieve the inflammation and compression, mild pain killers, hot compress and methylcobalamin supplements can help. Do consult your orthopedician for a direct examination to confirm the diagnosis and get proper prescription medicines for relief.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.
Regards.
Dr. Praveen Tayal.
