What Does 50% PTSD Permanent Disability Mean?

default
Posted on Mon, 19 May 2014
Question: Good day. Thanks for taking the time.

My question is: What does it mean / what can I expect, that I was diagnosed with 50% PTSD permanent disability as a result of a "industrial accident" of which I became a victim while working for the CA Department of Corrections....? I still do not understand what that 50% means, although I have been re-experiencing flash backs and other symptoms now for years.

Brief Answer:
The compensation ranges with disability.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

The disability is categorized according to person's symptoms how those symptoms affect a person and how well a person functions outside his home.

The question is whether you have applied for social security benefits in your state.

If yes, the disability is assigned with 10% increments, ranging from 10% to 100% disabled. A higher disability rating indicates the individual has a more severe disability, and therefore receives a higher monthly compensation payment.

You should check with the labor laws in case of disability or call up the Workers compensation cell of California state and enquire.
