What Does Basophil Count Of 1.7 Indicate?
Question: What can basophil count of 1.7 mean? Can breast cancer which my sister had ( in situ) be a cause?
Brief Answer:
No breast cancer is not a cause for high basophil
Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your basophil count is slightly high.
But breast cancer is not a cause for high basophil count.
Normal basophil count is 0.5 to 1.0 %.
Her basophil count is 1.7. It is slightly high. It can be normal variation or may be seen in other conditions like chronic myeloid leukemia, ulcerative colitis or myxoedema.
It has no relation with breast cancer.
Most probably it is due to normal variation. So no need to worry.
Still please send me your complete blood count report so that I can help you further.
