Brief Answer:
Need to be evaluated
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
Heterogeneous focus in the endometrium could be a polyp or trophoblastic proliferation or endometrial growth etc.
If you send the ultrasound report possibly I can guide you better.
Dilatation and curettage helps in obtaining the tissue from the endometrium and thereby finding out the nature of that heterogeneous focus.
Sometimes this can help for therapeutic purpose also.
So, you discuss these things with your doctor and follow her advice.
Hope I have answered your query. I will be available to follow up queries. If you are satisfied with the response, please give your review at the end of the discussion.
Take care.

This is the rerpot
Brief Answer:
Possibly hormonal imbalance
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
According to your age, history and ultrasound findings there is more possibility for polyp or endometrial hyperplasia.
This can be due hormonal imbalance.
As I told previously by doing D&C that focus can be removed and nature of the lesion can be identified.
After that treatment with hormonal pills can correct the hormonal imbalance.
By discussing with your doctor you can plan the line of management.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Hormonal imbalance can be corrected
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
As I told previously the possible cause of your problem is hormonal imbalance.
That is why your doctor prescribed combined hormonal pills (novelon) to you.
By using these pills estrogen hyperactivity can be decreased and cycles can be regularized.
When you get withdrawal bleeding after completing one pack of pills, possibly that heterogeneous focus can shed with remaining endometrium.
If bleeding persists even after using pills, better to go for D&C.
Take care.

Brief Answer:
Better to use the pills for two to three months
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
D&C is needed only if the symptoms continue even after using pills.
One line of management is, after using the pills for 21 days, you have to take one week gap. During that time possibly you will get withdrawal bleeding.
Then after one week gap you can start second pack.
Usually it will take two to three months to normalize the hormonal levels with pills.
So better to use the pills for three months.
Low dose pills usually cause minimal side effects like bloating sensation, breast tenderness, intermenstrual spotting etc.
But generally benefits overweight the risks here.
Take care.
