Brief Answer:
Report indicates a stroke sir, sorry to say

Detailed Answer:
Hello sir and welcome.

Thank you for writing to us.

I have gone through your query and would like you to know that I am here to help.

I am sorry to inform you sir, that based on the provided information from the report, it seems that the individual (Mr. Rohit) has suffered a stroke as a result of reduced blood supply to a part of the brain (usually due to blockage of blood vessels), which in turn has resulted in tissue death in a particular region of the brain called the ganglio-capsular area. Although it seems that this is a mini-stroke and would not cause any serious clinical presentations.

The bright side of this picture is that it can be reversed provided the individual goes about the following:
-Strictly follows the consulting doctor's orders
-Regular follow-ups with the doctor
-Anti-coagulant medication
-Anti-hypertensive medication (if required)
-Cholesterol-lowering medication (eg. statins)
-Active lifestyle
-If overweight or obese, weight-loss is recommended
-Reduced stress levels

I hope and pray all goes well with your brother-in-law. I hope I have explained the report in a manner best understood by you sir. Please feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you sir.

Best wishes.

Brief Answer:
Depends on many factors sir; 6-12 months approx

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

I understand this is a testing time for your family.

The chances of recovery depend completely on the extent of the infarct. I request you to write back to me with the exact events that resulted in his admission. How his symptoms started, what were they, and within how much time he was taken to the hospital after the onset of the symptoms?

This information also greatly helps in determining the rate and chance of recovery.

In general, most people do not completely recover from a stroke. Even if mild, some patients report to a doctor late, or just do not take good enough care during rehabilitation and post-stroke to reach prime health.

My mother also suffered from a stroke 2 years ago, and called upon me as soon as she suffered complete left-sided paralysis. I rushed her to a hospital, and initiated all treatment available. But the most important part was the follow-up, which I chose to do at home. Rigorous physiotherapy along with a strict diet and timely medication is what helped her with a full recovery (thank god). She now does not represent any signs or symptoms of a stroke.

So as you must have understood, timely reporting to the hospital, following the doctors orders, going about physiotherapy, changing the unhealthy lifestyle they once had, accurate medication prescription all play a vital role in recovery.

In my opinion, I cannot really say whether your brother-in-law can make a full recovery or not, but if he works hard towards that and takes special care in leading a healthier lifestyle, 6-12 months should suffice to reach a level of health that should allow him to return to his daily activities.

I hope you find my response helpful sir. Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help you.

Best wishes.

Dear Sir,
My brother in law on dated 09-06-2014 drunk wine and sleep earlier in evening without had any meal and water. When my Sister tried to wake up him, she saw that he was unconscious at 4-5 am on 10-6-2014. Then they took him to a simple local village doctor, but they got not any advantage. Then they took him to a City's Hospital. The doctor's said them that he was needed to oxygen and ventilator to recover him. and we took him to XXXXXXX City more facilated hospital. But we found not any recovery till 5-6 day in Medical ICU. at least dt 18-19 XXXXXXX he left ventilator and oxygen. and shift to General ward. But he opened only his eyes and no speak and no listening and no recognise any body. after treatment on dated the doctor said us to take him any neurologist. then we taken him to a neurosurgeon who prescribed for MRI test. and MRI test said what have told u before. and doc said that his recovery chances 50-50. then please tell me what I can do for him.

Brief Answer:
Only medications can be given, and hope for best

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

Thank you for that information, although the turn of events are unfortunate.

At present, the only thing we can do for him is to constantly keep track of his blood pressure and lipid profile. We will have to initiate:
+Anti-coagulants
+Anti-hypertensive medication
+Cholesterol-lowering medication
+Physiotherapy
+Healthy diet
+Gradually increase physical activity
+Monitor oxygen saturation and deliver oxygen through nasal tube or mask if low

I understand your concern, but unfortunately we can only initiate this treatment and hope for his recovery. Sadly, the infarct in the brain may or may not recover. We can only hope and pray that the above listed medications help him.

I hope you find my response simple enough to understand sir. If at all I have not explained anything well enough, please write back to me and I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes sir.
