Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
Thanks for writing to HCM
A small subchorionic collection due to choriodecidual separation in early pregnancy need follow up Ultrasound and usually it doesn't cause complications like abortion etc.
It is important to see for fetal cardiac activity.
You can take natural micronised progesterone. It will help in better placental attachment and will prevent any further subchorionic bleed.
Please don't be worried and take adequate rest.
You should avoid activities which might increase bleeding like heavy work, exercise, constipation and sexual intercourse. Subchorionic collection generally resolves and pregnancy usually continues.
You should have follow up scan after 2 weeks. It will help in detecting if there is any improvement.
Get well soon.
Hope i have answered your query.

Thanks. I have a follow up ultrasound on 13th.
The report also said that cardiac activity could not be distinctly visualized.
Could the low cardiac activity be due to this separation? Is it related?
Brief Answer:
Trans vaginal sonography can be done.
Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX
Thanks for writing back
It is important to know gestational age of the fetus.
You don't worry.By transadominal route,it is some times difficult to appreciate heart beat clearly. It may be due to early age of the fetus, excess maternal abdominal fat etc.
Trans vaginal sonography can be done to confirm heart beat or you can wait for another follow up scan.
It is not related to subchorionic collection.
