What Does TSH Level Of 5.59 While On Thyronorm Indicate?
I am feeling dizzy and almost like fainting quite a few times since 4 days. I stopped my medicine since yesterday but nothing really changed.
This dizziness started just after my periods which were 5 days late. I got married 5 months back and I am not under any other medication than thyronorm 50 mcg. I checked my blood pressure also, it is 120/70. Apart from dizziness, I feel very breathless, weak, chest congestion and lightheaded also although I am taking proper meals and water.
did u check for UPT?
Detailed Answer:
dear XXXXXXX , hi and welcome to HCM!
your thyroid profile is little under corrected. TSH at your age should be maintained below 3.5. so you must increase your daily thyronorm dose to 75mcg. the tablet has to be taken early morning , empty stomach. and another 30 minutes after the tablet please do not consume any tea or coffee or any food for that matter.
Now to your query, the dizziness can be due to anything , may be exertion, over tired, lack of sleep, etc.
if I may ask, how are your menstrual cycles. ? kindly check urine for pregnancy test.
stopping thyronorm will not help, rather worsen the scenario. but thyronorm takes time to show its effect. so it may not appear to you in a day or two, but stopping it will things bad for you.
for now you may take beta histidine (vertin) 8 mg twice a day, meanwhile catch up on your sleep, relax, confirm UPT.
regards!
