Brief Answer:
Hypothyroidism.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome To HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
Your son is suffering from a condition known as Hypothyroidism. In this condition there is insufficient thyroxine hormone being produced by the thyroid gland and do requires life time supplementation with the Thyroxine hormone.
So, I would recommend following further testing for him:
1. Ultrasound thyroid.
2. Ant Thyro Peroxidase (TPO) antibody.
Once the reports are available he would be started on Tab Thyroxine by your treating doctor.
I would recommend him daily exercises to loose weight.
No medicines are needed for his cholesterol levels.
I hope it helps you.
If you have any further query, please ask me.
