Brief Answer:
Large MCV

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns.

I am sorry to hear that you are having some problems with your blood work. What is happening is that the red blood cells are maturing faster than they should probably due to the alcohol use and causing the larger RBC. This is called Macrocytic changes and the most common cause is alcohol use. Even a little alcohol can cause these changes. So I agree with your doctor. You need to completely stop your alcohol use and have your blood rechecked in 1 month. Your red blood cells should be back to normal by then.

I hope I answered your question. Please contact us again if you have any additional questions

Brief Answer:
Alcohol consumption

Detailed Answer:
You can have wine occasionally but not everyday. Using alcohol everyday is what is causing your blood issues and may over time even cause liver damage.
