What Does A PSA Level Of 1.6 Indicate?

Question: Hi i am 40 years old and my psa level is 1.6 ..

My father had prostate cancer in age of 60.
Should i worry about this..

My psa was 1.2 last year.

I understand your concerns.

But this much psa is not significant. There has been a mild rise but this could well be due to lab variation.

You should get yourself checked by an urologist and if the clinical examination is normal, then nothing to worry.

My Physician has ordered one more PSA test after 3 months ..should I wait for this or should take appointment with urologist .
Can you also please explain " clinical examination" in this context.

By clinical examination I mean examination of the prostate gland by urologist with a finger placed inside rectum. If prostate feels like benign in that then you can do PSA even yearly.
