Brief Answer:
Raised PSA doest not mean it is a cancer..

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thankyou for asking here,
Dear increased PSA level does not mean that it is a cancer. As benign prostate enlargement is very common among this age of patients. So I would like to suggest first rule out benign prostate enlargement, which can be subsided on its own and with some medicines.
Since there is also burning during micturition. For that I would suggest get urine routine test and USG pelvis done to rule out infection.Else drinking alkaline syrup like Alkazip 2tsp three times a day can help. You may also need antibiotics if there is infection in urine routine and sonography report.

But please dont directly conclude for cancer.First go for urine routine and USG pelvis then you may further discuss about the reports .

Hopefully my answer will be helpful. Please do not hesitate to ask further if I need to clarify you more.
Best of Health.

Well my most recent UA came back negative for for a UTI. So im just a lil scared. Is BPH common in a man at my age (49) im also having some moderate post void dribbling. I have to shake my penis longer after urinate to get the drops of urine off the opening and i normally use a piece of tissue to make sure it not still wet before i pull up my underwear..

Brief Answer:
Dear as compare to prostate cancer BPH is more common.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Since we should always rule out the common illness first before concluding comparatively uncommon disease .And if you ask for BPH and Cancer of Prostate then I would suggest get checked for BPH first as it is more common.
The symptoms of post void driblling and some time incontinence are common in BPH.And these symptoms can be improved with some medicines. For example alpha receptor blockers(alfozusin etc) can improve bladder muscle and prostate muscle relaxation so the micturition problems.
So in nut shell I would advice, go for USG pelvis first and get checked in person from a Urologist for physical examination .It will help to rule out cancer or BPH ,so further treatment can be decided accordingly wether medical or surgical.
