What Does A Blood Blister On Tongue Indicate?
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: I have what looks to be like a blood blister on the distal lateral portion of my tongue, right were the side of the tongue meets the throat and tonsil area. It started hurting two days ago and I though it could possibly just be a swollen taste bud. I looked today and saw that it looks like a blood blister and bleeds easily if touched. Family hx of throat cancer. Should I have an ENT look at it ?

Dear Ms
Depending on your young age it's unlikely to be malignancy.
It is likely to be Erythroplakia. ENT assessment is definitely required.
It would be helpful if you could provide me clinical photograph for further assessment.
Take care
