What Does A Blotchy Red Rash On The Body Suggest?

Brief Answer:
Should see a doctor ASAP
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome and thanks for your query.
I understand your concern.
Do these lesions blanch when you stretch the skin? If not, these are due to bleeding into the skin. You should have blood tests like complete blood count and a coagulation profile.
If these are normal, it is Henoch Schonlein purpura which is often precipitated by an infection.
I think you should see your doctor ASAP and if the appointment is delayed, go to the ER and have yourself examined and investigated.
Best wishes,
Dr Noble Zachariah

Brief Answer:
Need tests
Detailed Answer:
I agree with you that the lesions are increasing and hence you should get the tests done early and better treatment would be possible.

I had some blood drawn yesterday by my PCP. Platelet count is normal. Was able to see dermatologist today. He confirmed that I have inflamed blood vessels. He took two biopsies to determine cause (virus or infection). I am relieved to know what the rash isn't. Looking forward to test results so I know what caused this reaction. Thanks for your help.
Brief Answer:
You are welcome
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the update.
Glad to know that it is not due to throbocytopenia.
It is likely to be HS purpura which is not dangerous and easily treated with good results.
Do get back to me if you have more queries.
Wish you good health and a great day.
