What Does A Bump On Upper Hand Indicate?
Question: After the birth of my second baby, a funny blue bump (same color as my normal veins) developed on the inner part of my left upper arm. It kind of looks like a varicose vein but is a circular bump. It wouldn't hurt unless I pressed on it. It definitely is not a skin problem. Today, it changed somewhat into a tender, harder blue bump. It only hurts if I touch it. What is it?

Hello!
Thank you for the query.
It is really hard to tell not being able to see it. Are you able to attach a photo of it?
It can be a varicose vein however on the arm varicose veins are less frequent than on the legs.
If there was any injury in this area, hematoma is also possible. The best way to find out what are you dealing with is to perform an ultrasound.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

I have had this thing (about the size of a dime), for 3 years. It isn't like a bruise. It can roll around under the skin. I think my 3 year old was pressing on it inadvertently this morning while we were both still lying in bed. It does hurt also when I stretch my arm.
I will try and have my husband take a photo of it when he is back in town Friday.

Well, as this is for so long and does not hurt it is nothing serious or malignant. Benign soft tissues lesion is most probable. For sure nothing to worry about. This is all I can tell not being able to see it.
Regards.
