What Does A Clear Cyst In Ovary Indicate?
On 13 Sep --- She had a FM/ET which showed a clear cyst in right ovary.
Our doctor advised that we cannot go for IUI this cycle and prescribed OVRAL G for 21 days. My wife took first tablet on 13th Sep night. From 14th Sep the periods totally stopped.
I want to have a opinion that if this is normal or there is something wrong here.
Dont worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for writing..
I understand your concern..
On the second day of her periods, she underwent a scan and detected to have 2 clear cysts in the right ovary which could be simple cyst. In the presence of simple cyst, when ovulation induction is done, it will be difficult to differentiate between an actual growing follicle and the clear cyst. So cyst might be misdiagnosed as follicle and exact timing of IUI will go wrong.. Moreover some study shows that clear cysts can even cause miscarriage but not proven.
Ovral G is a estrogen-progesterone OC Pills which inhibits ovulation and make the ovary quiet and hence help the cyst to regress. Some common side effects with it include nausea, bloating sensation and decreased or absent bleeding.. Your wife has decreased or absent bleeding due to that. So dont worry..
After 21 days of pill, she will get her periods in 7 days. Then a repeat scan need to be one on 2nd day to see whether cysts has regressed. If it has regressed, she can be given ovulation induction drug from 2nd day for 5 days and follow up with follicular study from day 11 on every alternate day till the follicle size becomes 20mm. At that time Hcg inj can be done for ovulation to occur and IUI is done after 36 hrs. You need to have intercourse during these day post injection except on the day of IUI to get sufficient sample.Post IUI ,progesterone tablet should be taken for 10 days for luteal phase support and get a pregnancy test after 15 days post IUI.
Hope I have answered your queries. Feel free to ask any doubts.. Good day..
