What Does A Hard Bean Sized Lump On The Thigh Indicate?

Question: Hi, I've found a hard bean sized lump in my thigh. It can't be seen from the skin, but you can feel it just by brushing over the skin as it's so hard like a melon pip almost. It's painless but tender when I press on it. It's immobile and I can feel it whether my leg is flexed or not. It's on the ground/outer aspect of my thigh halfway between knee and hip. I only noticed it a few days ago but I don't want to rush to the doctors like a mad woman. What do you think? Observe for a while? See if it goes?
Brief Answer:
It could be Lipoma.
Detailed Answer:
Hi
As per your description, it could be a Lipoma, swelling arising from fat tissue. It can be Soft, firm or hard in consistency.
Another possibility is a Fibroma.
You can observe for few weeks. If the swelling is increasing in size,I prefer to remove it surgically under local anesthesia and send it for histopathological examination (Biopsy).Exact diagnosis will be confirmed.
I would like to remove the swelling when it is smaller in size.
Please consult your doctor if it is increasing in size.
Nothing to worry.
Hope I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
Regards
