Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
In thalassemia minor, MCV is very low with high RBC count and normal rdw. If there is a doubt, you should go for hemoglobin electrophoresis. It will give you perfect diagnosis. If your HBA2 in electrophoresis is more than 3.5 then it is confirmed that you have thalassemia minor.
Thalassemia minor person can lead normal life without much problem. Fresh lime water is good for health. You should also take iron rich food.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.

Brief Answer:

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
You have thalassemia minor. Hb electrophoresis is confirmatory test. When hb A2 level is in between 3.5 to 7 it is suggestive of thalassemia minor.
Your level is 4.9 so it is confirmed.
Moreover your other findings like low mcv and high rbc count also suggest thalassemia minor. These are the main parameters required. So it is confirmed and no further test is required.
You have thalassemia minor.

You are thalassemia minor patient. If your husband is normal then you can plan a child. Your child will be either totally normal or thalassemia minor. But no chance of thalassemia major. So no need to worry. And thalassemia minor child can lead a normal life. So you can plan for child.
