What Does A Lump In Breast Indicate?
Benign non progressive cysts are common.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The presence of a small freely XXXXXXX lump in the breast is commonly seen due to fibrocystic disease of the breast or benign cysts in breast tissue. These swellings usually appear because of hormonal influence. Sometimes such lumps may not be felt. Swelling, tenderness of the breast, itchy nipples can be seen in this.
It does not progress. Usually no treatment is needed. Most of the fibroadenomas or cysts regress spontaneously with time without any treatment. You can get a mammography and FNAC done to confirm the diagnosis.
The simple measures to reduce the lump size are-
1.Application of a hot compress to the affected breast. Soak a towel in castor oil and place it on the area that is affected. Keep this towel in place for about an hour for maximum results. You could also use plain castor oil to regularly massage your breasts. The application of castor oil mixed with essential oils or herbs is also regarded as an effective natural remedy.
2.Use of ginger tea is also popular when it comes to natural remedies for such lumps. Dip a towel in the tea while it is still warm. Then, hold the towel against your breast for about 20 to 60 minutes; do this every few hours. This remedy is particularly helpful if you are also experiencing pain and discomfort.

Not necessary to reduce with cycles.
Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
If the cyst is related to hormonal imbalance then it decreases in size after the periods. It is not necessary for all the cysts to reduce in size with cycles. It can remain constant for years. So do not worry.

Needs to be checked.
Detailed Answer:
A change in consistency of the lump from soft to hard is a worrisome finding and needs to be checked by your doctor. This needs further investigations to rule out infection or malignancy.
