What Does A Lump On Perineum Indicate?
Question: I have a pea sized lump on my perineum about 1 inch away from my anus. I have the same thing under my armpits. These lumps occur occasionally at several places over my body throughout the year. Under the armpits, back of the neck, inside of the thighs near the groin etc. They always "fade" away within a few weeks.
But this one has me worried as it is near my anus. It is not painful at all, just hard.
I'm a virgin so it cannot be a STD.
Please let me know what this could be and how serious is it?
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
Sebaceous cyst
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query
Mutiple lumps that come and go especially in sites like armpits, neck and anus are sabaceous cyst. They do not need any treatment and tend to go away on its own. It appears because of clogged sweat glands.
The only time intervention from a surgeon is required when these cysts become infected , painful or sit on a nerve ending.
Do attempt to squeeze or pinch on it. Do not attempt to puncture it.
I hope I was of help. If you have any further queries please get back to me

I just saw my pyjama and there was a yellowish stain and blood stain at the site where my clothing was in contact with the lump.
I checked the site by applying a napkin to it and there was less than a drop of blood on it. I applied more napkins to the area and also cleaned the lump with an alcohol swab (used for blood sugar checking).
When I applied the alcohol swab to the lump there was a sudden reaction in the area right above my penis and in my penis. It happened when the alcohol came in contact with the lump.
How do I keep the lump clean since it is so close to the anus and there is contact between the lump and fecal matter while cleansing.
I would prefer home remedies as I would like to avoid going to hospital as much as possible.

Brief Answer:
Ruptured cyst
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for getting back
I suggest you to approach a surgeon however since you have asked me for home remedies here is what you should do
1. Go to a local pharmacy and get yourself some sterile gauze pieces, Clean the area with anti septic like dettol or savlon with the gauze piece
2. I recommend that you apply betadine ointment over a dry gauze piece and close the ruptured lump with the gauze piece using a micropore ( plaster, available in the pharamacy)
3. It is not possible to avoid contact of fecal matter with the lump as it is in close proximity, the best you can do is to clean the area thoroughly each time you defecate
4. I do not recommend alcohol swab as it is painful and known to cause reaction
I hope I was of help
