Brief Answer:
Biopsy is necessary to see the cells under a microscope.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

What was the finding in the mammogram? Was it micro calcification? Can you upload the report?

Either mammogram or ultrasound cannot give 100% true answer and this test gives only a small part of information about an issue.
I assume that in mammogram there were some microcalcifications and there is lump visible in the ultrasound. Such image can be seen in both a cancer and a benign fibroid. And as long as the biopsy won’t be done, you cannot be sure. Biopsy is necessary to look at the cells under the microscope. This is the only well to determine the nature of the lesion.

But you should not be worried. Here are the facts which should ease your mind:
- Your doctor saw it as a benign lesion - experienced doctor can say that and in most cases its the truth
- Even if this will be a breast cancer, it seems to be early detected
- Early detected breast cancer gives almost 100% chances to survive
- Early detected breast cancer can be removed without whole breast removal, and no other treatment is necessary (sometimes radiation is needed).

So either way, there is no reason to be worried. I wish I could assure you that this is not a cancer, but simply I do not know it. That is why the biopsy is necessary.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards
