What Does A Painful And Red Lump Indicate?

Question: I have a lump the size of a plumb which is getting bigger and painful and the skin around is redish. I t looks like it will explote any time.

Brief Answer: Proper care of the affected area Detailed Answer: Hi again I would like to have a look at the exact skin lesions before we can be sure of diagnosis . Please upload pictures on this page. In the meantime, take care to keep the affected area clean and dry . You should wash it with an antiseptic lotion twice a day followed by application of a topical antibiotic cream like neosporin over the affected areas twice a day . Take some oral anti inflammatory agent like paracetamol twice a day . Do not apply any other cream or oil over it . You might need a course of oral antibiotics in case the lesion still tends to persist or increase in size . Dr Geetika Paul
