Bartholin's cyst
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
You may have a condition called Bartholin's cyst. This is a fluid filled sac, which is usually painless.
It can get painful when it becomes infected, thus resulting in an abscess.
The most common causative organism is gonorrhea. It should normally resolve within a couple of weeks time.
I would suggest you do the following measures at home, and if it does not resolve, it would be wise to consult with a local doctor for proper drainage.
- Soak the affected area in fairly warm water for about 10-15 mins for at least 3 to 4 times a day, which should provide sufficient relief from pain and also may lead to drainage of pus if any.
- keep the area clean and dry and avoid wearing tight under garments.
- avoid shaving of the affected area.
Hope I have answered your query.
Take care
